We are excited to announce that the Totus Tuus Summer Youth Program will be coming to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes in the summer of 2025! This enriching and faith-filled day camp serves as our Vacation Bible School (VBS) opportunity for the year, offering a dynamic and engaging experience for participants. We look forward to welcoming families and children to join us for a summer of faith, fun, and fellowship!
What is Totus Tuus?
Totus Tuus, which translates to "Totally Yours," is a weeklong, engaging summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and deepening the Catholic Faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The mission of Totus Tuus is to help young people cultivate a personal and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
Originally founded in 1987 as a Vacation Bible School program in the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas, Totus Tuus has since expanded to many dioceses across the United States and Canada. Inspired by the motto of Pope Saint John Paul II, "Totus Tuus," which originates from St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion to Mary, embodies a commitment to fully giving ourselves to Jesus Christ through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Curriculum
Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church provide the foundation of the catechetical instruction of our program. Consequently, Totus Tuus has divided the four pillars of the Catechism into a six-year teaching cycle:
- Year One: The Mystery of Salvation
- Year Two: The Apostles' Creed
- Year Three: The Sacraments
- Year Four: The Commandments
- Year Five: The Virtues
- Year Six: Prayer and the Our Father
