Office Manager & Bookkeeper Job Description
Job Summary
Provide professional administrative, clerical, and operational support for Rector of Cathedral. Perform a variety of confidential administrative duties in direct support of the Cathedral, staff members and parish members. Perform a variety of technical bookkeeping duties in accounting software programs.
Examples of Duties
(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following)
Provide direct administrative support to the Rector and parish as a whole.
Assist Cathedral Rector
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of Office Assistant
Prepare correspondence, reports and information including event flyers and invitations
Maintain parish website, calendar and event schedule, keeping information current and communicating events and activities to appropriate staff and volunteers
Prepare weekly parish bulletin, upload to Catholic Printery and Cathedral website
Create Cathedral Annual Report
Provide bookkeeping support to the Rector and finance committee.
Prepare weekly reports for deposits and general ledger
Prepare vouchers for payment of bills and invoices
Process payroll semi-monthly
Reconcile all parish held bank accounts
File all taxes as required by State and Federal law
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and five (5) years executive secretarial level experience with responsibility for financial, personnel and administrative support functions. Course work or a degree in a related field may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience. Experience in accounting preferred. Member of the Catholic faith. Skilled in general use of computers as well as QuickBooks, PDS and Microsoft Office suite needed to perform assigned duties.
